From The New York Times:
Immigrants Shouldnât Have to Be âTalentedâ to Be Welcome

⌠As long as politicians consider it necessary to qualify the victims as âhardworkingâ or âtalented,â they fail to stand up to the administrationâs fundamentally hateful immigration agenda.
⌠Itâs not immigrantsâ economic contribution that makes America proud; itâs its adherence to the words inscribed inside the base of the Statue of Liberty: âGive me your tired, your poor/your huddled masses yearning to breathe freeâ â from the Emma Lazarus poem that the White House adviser Stephen Miller waved away last month during a news conference on immigration reform.
