Media Analytics lets you graph the New York Times’ usage of words and phrases from 1970-2017. For example, for years The New York Times used “whiteness” in articles about polar exploration, laundry bleach, and interior decorating. But suddenly, around 2015, “whiteness” became the Times‘ go-to racial slur.
